“As a Legal Investigator, we first need to discover and identify the reason behind the mistake that was made, then prove the mistake exists.” The primary role of a legal investigator is to assist the attorney in the preparation of litigation. The legal investigator’s job is to search out and report the facts to which the attorney can apply the law. Troy started his career in 1986 as an investigator for a North Carolina personal injury law firm. His responsibilities included overseeing the investigation department as well as meeting with new clients, interviewing witnesses, conducting background investigations, performing criminal record checks as well as product research in preparation for litigation and trials. Troy was born in Asheville, North Carolina, but grew up in Greenville, North Carolina, where he attended East Carolina University and studied Business Administration and Marketing. He started his legal career after his third year at ECU where he discovered his passion for legal investigation. Troy is an active member of the National Association of Legal Investigators where he has served as a regional director and secretary, and currently serves as the Assistant National Director. He is also a member of the Inner Circle of Investigators. In 2016, Troy was named AIEG’s Paralegal of the Year.
Troy is married and has two sons. He enjoys community volunteering, exercise, biking, hiking and grilling for his family and friends.
