In October 2001, I started Great Southern Detective Agency, Inc. to serve the criminal defense and family law bar in South Florida. For 14 years, I served as a staff investigator first for the local Public Defender in Palm Beach County (1984-1990) and then the Federal Public Defender for the Southern District of Florida (1993-2001). It was my privilege to work with talented trial lawyers who taught me the value of accurate and reliable information. The agency grew quickly, and in September 2003, Wendy Murnan left a long-term position with a nationally renowned personal injury attorney to join me. As a Certified Paralegal (CP®), Wendy brought an expertise in civil law that allowed us to expand our services to civil attorneys. In March 2006, our company name was changed to Complete Legal Investigations, Inc., to more accurately reflect our mission: provide our attorney-clients with complete confidence through information. We create the “staff investigator” experience for our clients by giving them access to our investigators on a daily basis by phone and e-mail; and to enjoy the exchange of ideas and information from the field in “real time,” as we talk to witnesses and develop leads from day to day.
